“Fortwilliam Fishery is to my mind the whole package that a fishing holiday should be. 5 beats with fly and spinning catered for on each beat. Great gillies with experience, patience and advice with a smile. The banks are kept beautifully and all but one beat very easily accessible. Huts are on each beat to shelter should the rain come or to sit and watch the wildlife over lunch. The river itself offers stunning scenery.
We have been coming here for 18 years+ and love it so much we built a house here.
It is now a friendly family run working farm with the onus being on creating the perfect fishing break
Lismore itself is a heritage town with ample restaurants and the locals are always ready to have the craic over a pint or three of ‘the black stuff’. Above all everyone you meet on the Estates beats are all looking for the same thing. Great private fishing, beautiful scenery, wonderful wildlife and tranquility, heaven on earth”.

“I would highly recommend a Fort William holiday break based in the heart of the country, it is everything it says on the website. The cottages are immaculate with all mod cons. If you like fishing you could be in heaven, if not there is everything for a stress free and relaxing day, with scenic and walks.”
“I have been coming to Ireland salmon fishing for the last 22 years and have fished at Fort William for the last 12 years. I stay in both Hotels in Lismore and in the self catering accommodation on the Estate, and come from the U.K. three times a year. I find the fishing and environment most rewarding and have seen the improvements made over the past years by the Estate to the river and banks that have added to the enjoyment of being on the Munster Blackwater. The fishing is more than ably managed by Paul Whelan. who looks after both the experienced angler and beginners alike, and is always on hand to offer advice if needed. There are also a number of fishing guides on hand should you need such assistance. All in all a pleasant and rewarding fishery that I hope to be visiting for many years to come, and it is true I do count the days from one visit to the next.
